The main problem is with the end of this series is that hatred isn't removed from the world after Lelouch's death. Human nature would still exist, and hatred and conflict would begin. Collections of power, led by ambition and greed, would secede from the new Britannia, and begin to wage war. All in all, it would become exactly the same as it was before Lelouch instigated the Zero Requiem, unless if it repeated over and over again, or if someone did really succeed in the Ragnarok Connection or the Damocles situation, or even take over the entire world. Either way, human nature trumps all.

In truth, Emperor Charles was just an obstacle for the Zero Requiem to come about. While it hadn't come entirely to fruition in Lelouch's mind, he had the general idea of taking over the world and removing war etc. All in all, it would make sense that Lelouch would want to stay alive, due to the fact that people would believe that he was dead. He could have his body taken away at the chaos that was the parade where he died. Either way, if his body was destroyed, we're pretty sure that C.C. was talking to him, as she did with marianne, since he was connected to geass, so she could communicate with him.
