The Chaos Mine is a cylindrical air burst grenade that sprays deadly shrapnel over a small area. The only Knightmares seen equipped with it are the Sutherland and the Gloucester and it is usually equipped to the hip.
However, it is ineffective against a Blaze Luminous, as shown when it was blocked by the Lancelot to protect Euphemia and Jeremiah during the Orange Skirmish.
During the early days of the Black Knights, the Japan Liberation Front developed technology similar to the Chaos Mine. The Raikō, a unique artillery weapon created by the JLF, was able to fire shells that released deadly shrapnel.
Background[]
It was first used by Kewell Soresi and was meant for Jeremiah Gottwald during the Orange Skirmish. Kewell mentioned that it was a prototype weapon developed by the Holy Britannian Empire. Before he uses it, he orders his men to stand back as the Chaos Mine sprays shrapnel at a given direction. The only other time it was seen used was by Guilford during the Battle of Narita. He used it on Tohdoh and the Four Holy Swords, but they were able to dodge all of the shrapnel.
